About PUR Performance

Established in 1979, First Capitol 4WD has been outfitting the best-dressed vehicles in St. Louis and St. Charles, MO, with top-quality products from the leading manufacturers in the automotive aftermarket industry. We found our first home nearly forty-six years ago in a two-bay, 1,000 sq. ft. showroom on First Capital Drive in St. Charles. Since then, First Capitol 4WD has grown in reputation, size, product selection, level of service, and customer loyalty. We are known for our top-quality work and our great customer service.

In 2002, feeling the need for expansion, we purchased a Franks Nursery and Crafts store to become one of the largest independent retail parts and installation stores in the Midwest. With this move, we realized we needed a new name since we were no longer just a 4WD shop. We had evolved into a full-service performance and off-road shop, so we needed a new name that reflected everything we offer to our customers, and Pur Performance became our new name.
